Filipino Style Spicy Chicken Adobo and Pork Barbecue Recipes

Filipino Style Spicy Chicken Adobo and Pork Barbecue Recipes are the most popular Filipino dishes. Whenever we have parties and any other occasion this two dishes are always present. My family and friends loved it so much and I just want to share it to you so that you’ll love it too:).

 

Filipino Style Spicy Chicken Adobo

Chicken adobo ingredients:

1 whole Chicken (cut into serving pieces)
½ cup soy sauce
1 whole garlic (crushed)
2tbsp cooking oil
1tsp salt
2tbsp brown sugar
1tsp black pepper
½cup vinegar
1 chopped red onion
1 tsp chili powder
3 pieces bay leaves
½ cup water
1 tsp Turmeric powder

Instructions:
1. In a large container, combine all the ingredients except water then marinade the chicken for at least 1 to 3 hours.
2. Place the cooking oil in a pan and apply heat.
3. When the oil is hot enough, put-in the marinated chicken.
4. Cook all the sides for about 5 minutes.
5. Pour-in the remaining marinade and add water then bring to a boil.
6. Simmer for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender.
7. Stir and cook for 10 minutes.
8. You may add seasoning. Stir and turn the heat off.
9. Ready to serve

Pork Barbecue Recipe

Barbecue ingredients:

  • 2 kg pork
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cup catsup
  • ½ cup calamansi or lemon juice
  • ½ cup flour
  • 2 head garlic (crushed and chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • Seasoning

Basting Sauce ingredients:
• Leftover marinade
• 5 tbsp soy sauce
• 5 tbsp catsup
• 3 tbsp oil

Additional:
• bamboo skewers (barbecue sticks)

Instructions:
1. Slice pork meat into bite size
2. In a bowl combine all ingredients and mix well.
3. Place the meat into the marinade and mix well until each piece is coated evenly.
4. Marinate for at least 3 to 24 hrs, make sure to refrigerate the marinade.
5. Remove the marinade from the refrigerator.
6. Place at least 4 to 6 pieces of meat per skewer (barbecue sticks).
7. In other bowl mix all the ingredients of basting sauce.
8. Using a barbecue grill or charcoal grill place pork skewers and cook then put the basting sauce on both sides.
9. You may serve it with soy sauce with vinegar.
